I am so EXCITED! I’m ringing the bell right now because I’ve been working behind the scenes on something really cool. And though I can’t tell you everything right now, I can tell you this:
If you’ve ever wanted to get expand your voice and build a legacy, this is going to be for you. Ever since I went through a battle with breast cancer, I’ve been asking myself: “What is mine to do?”
Then my coach recently asked me, “What’s in your house?” Meaning…what is right in front of my face? What have I done since I was young? What am I so good at that I don’t even know I’m good at it?
Building platforms for stories that transform people.
In 5th grade, I realized we didn’t have a school newspaper. So I went to the librarian and asked her to be my sponsor. I gathered my friends and asked them to interview teachers and students, write articles, and draw cartoons. I wrote stories for every issue and oversaw the creation of the newspaper. That was the first platform I built. And a clue.
The second clue was my stint as the general manager of our college radio station: WZLY. I ran the station, curated shows, and was a DJ on two of my own.
The third clue: I vividly remembered what it was like to be a new writer, standing on one side of a huge wall. It felt like the editors who would purchase my work all stood on the other side and I had no idea how to get to the other side of the wall. When I became an editor-in-chief of a magazine, I realized that editors need writers. We need fresh ideas. So I started an event.
I would invite editors and writers from all the local publications. The only rule was that you had to be a generous person, willing to share contacts and make referrals.
Cut to today. I have spoken in front of thousands, sparking inspiration and action. Written 14 books and countless articles. Been on TV, radio, and podcasts. I also design national events for up to 2,000 people. I get pitched by speakers who want to be on those stages constantly.
Building powerful platforms for stories that transform people is in my house.
Like a brain surgeon who’s studied her craft her entire life, I’ve honed my ability to architect and tell stories and to identify the stories that need to reach a larger audience.
When I get chills after hearing a story, I know that person will publish a book, get on a huge stage, and impact the world in a positive way.
So.
What’s next?
Another platform.
The most important one I’ve ever created. It’s a platform that gives people with a powerful story access to the trail angels who can open a gateway to the biggest stages of their lives. Why?
I’m all about igniting powerful voices. I curate events that propel thought leaders towards their ideal audiences, activate their purpose, and impact. Events like these get you directly in the room with power brokers (TED, Amazon Studios, Davos) who can put your mission in motion and give you the platforms to move the world.
I’ll be opening up 10 spots for a 90-day coaching sprint to prep you to pitch the story you were born to tell to an audience of what we used to call gatekeepers (agents, editors, speaker’s bureaus, producers) but whom I like to call trail angels.
